Privacy

What we collect

  • If you sign up to be notified about the Down the Pan-American Highway Kickstarter, we collect your email address.

  • If you submit a tip, lead, or memory about the Scout 4x4 camper (plate WB 850), we collect whatever you send us — which may include your name, email address, photos, and any message you write.

What we use it for

  • To email you when the Kickstarter campaign launches.

  • Before the campaign begins, we may send a limited number of emails to let you know about timing (e.g., a launch date) or to ask if you'd share the pending campaign with others. We'll keep this to a minimum — this isn't a regular newsletter.

  • To follow up on leads about WB 850's whereabouts or history.

  • We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

If the project grows

  • Once the Kickstarter campaign begins, it's possible the project expands into additional offerings (for example, related products or future editions). If we ever email you about something beyond the original book and campaign, that email will clearly include a way to opt out of future communications.

How long we keep it

  • Email signups are kept until the Kickstarter campaign concludes, or until you ask us to remove you.

  • Submissions about WB 850 are kept as long as they're useful to the search, or until you ask us to delete them.

Your rights

  • You can ask us to show you what we have, correct it, or delete it at any time by emailing hello@panamdrive.com.

  • If you're in the EU/UK, this includes rights under GDPR; we'll honor deletion and access requests regardless of where you're located.

Third parties

  • If you pledge through Kickstarter, Kickstarter's own privacy policy governs the payment and account information you give them — we only see what they choose to share with campaign creators (typically your name, pledge amount, and shipping address if a reward requires it).

  • We may use a third-party email service (e.g., Mailchimp) to manage the notification list; your email is stored there under their security practices.

Submissions (Photos, Tips & Memories)

By submitting a photo, story, tip, or memory about WB 850 to us (by email, web form, or social media in response to our request):

  • You confirm you have the right to share it (e.g., it's your own photo, or you have permission from whoever took it).

  • You give us permission to use it — including in the book, on this website, in the Kickstarter campaign, and in related publicity — with credit to you if you'd like it, or anonymously if you prefer.

  • You won't expect payment for this use, though we're always glad to credit you and will reach out if we want to use something in a larger way (e.g., a full feature in the book).

  • You can ask us to stop using your submission at any time; we'll remove it from anything we control going forward, though we can't unpublish physical books already printed.

If any of this doesn't work for you, tell us when you submit — we're happy to make case-by-case arrangements.
